Self-care: Make Yourself Porridge
Self-care is a vital skill, especially when you have plenty of commitments and responsibilities. Taking a moment to put yourself first is what makes those commitments and responsibilities sustainable.
This isn’t a food blog, but if you’re reading this page then it’s probably because we talked in a counselling session about your self-care and I suggested you make a hot bowl of porridge from time to time in winter to help keep yourself warm as an act of self-care.
So, how to make it?
Ingredients
- Half a cup of porridge oats (they’re in the breakfast cereal aisle of the supermarket)
- a cup of milk
- A spoon of sugar (big or small is fine. You’ll work out how much you like)
Method
- Pour the oats into a bowl
- Pour the milk in
- Put it in the microwave and heat up for 3 minutes
- Take it out and stir it. Add the sugar. Stir again
- Eat!
Self-care isn’t always easy or fun, but I hope this one is both and you enjoy being warm, glowy, and full of energy!
